Last updated August 19, 2025

All Products and services on this website (www.chairloom.com) are sold subject to the terms and conditions set out below.

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”, “Terms and Conditions”) carefully before using the www.chairloom.com website (the “Service”) operated by Chairloom (“us”, “we”, or “our”).

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned upon your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users and others who wish to access or use the Service.

By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms then you do not have permission to access the Service.

Communications

By creating an Account on our service, you agree to subscribe to newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information we may send. However, you may opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications from us by following the unsubscribe link or instructions provided in any email we send or by contacting us directly.

We send to all new registrants an e-mail to verify password and username information. Once you have established an account with us, you will occasionally receive information relating to our new merchandise and service offerings and other information that may be of interest to you.

Purchases

If you wish to purchase any product or service made available through the Service (“Purchase”), you may be asked to supply certain information relevant to your Purchase including, without limitation, your credit card number, the expiration date of your credit card, your billing address, and your shipping information.

You represent and warrant that: (i) you have the legal right to use any credit card(s) or other payment method(s) in connection with any Purchase; and that (ii) the information you supply to us is true, correct and complete.

The service may employ the use of third party services for the purpose of facilitating payment and the completion of Purchases. By submitting your information, you grant us the right to provide the information to these third parties subject to our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel your order at any time for reasons including but not limited to: product or service availability, errors in the description or price of the product or service, error in your order or other reasons.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel your order if fraud or an unauthorized or illegal transaction is suspected.

Custom Orders & Lead Times

All Custom orders (furniture, pillows, cushions, textiles, cut yardage, etc.) require a non-refundable deposit and are subject to our stated lead times.

Lead times are estimates and may vary based on material availability, production schedules, and other factors beyond our control. We will communicate any significant delays promptly.

All custom orders are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged unless there are manufacturing defects or errors on our part. All defects must be brought to our attention and documented within 5 business days of receipt.

Textile Orders

All textile orders are final sale and non-refundable, as each order is custom-cut to your specifications. We strongly recommend ordering swatches first to ensure you’re completely satisfied with your fabric choice.

All yardage is carefully inspected before shipping to ensure quality. If you receive fabric with defects or shipping damage, please contact us within 5 business days of delivery. We’ll work with you to resolve any quality-related concerns promptly.

Shipping Policies & Procedures

Due to the size and weight of our furniture pieces, shipping costs are calculated individually for each item based on your delivery address and selected shipping method. The shipping fee shown at checkout is an estimate based only on the item’s weight. Your actual shipping cost will be determined after we review your specific delivery location and shipping preferences.

  • If your final shipping cost is higher than the estimate, we’ll contact you before processing your order

  • If your final shipping cost is lower than the estimate, we’ll automatically refund the difference

In-stock yardage and samples ship within 1–5 business days. Made-to-order textiles: We'll contact you within one business day to confirm your yardage requirements and coordinate delivery timeline.

All furniture can be collected from our showroom at no charge. We'll contact you within one business day of your order to schedule your preferred delivery or pickup time. Please ensure you have adequate transportation and assistance for furniture pickup, as some pieces may require multiple people to move safely.

We will not be liable for any loss, damage, cost or expense related to delays in shipment or delivery of merchandise. The risk of loss of, and title to, all merchandise purchased on this site will pass to you upon our delivery of that merchandise to the carrier selected to deliver it.

White glove delivery service may be available for an additional fee in select areas.

Taxes & Duties

Chairloom will collect sales tax on all purchases of merchandise to be shipped to locations where we are required to collect tax. Users are responsible for all sales taxes and other taxes, if any, applicable to merchandise shipped to other locations. You and/or the recipient will be solely responsible for any duties or customs charges imposed on all purchases of merchandise shipped to locations outside the United States.

Availability, Errors & Inaccuracies

We are constantly updating product and service offerings on the Service. We may experience delays in updating information on the Service and in our advertising on other web sites. The information found on the Service may contain errors or inaccuracies and may not be complete or current. Products or services may be mispriced, described inaccurately, or unavailable on the Service and we cannot guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any information found on the Service.

We therefore reserve the right to change or update information and to correct errors, inaccuracies, or omissions at any time without prior notice. Sales prices for merchandise and services are subject to change without notice, and if merchandise or services are listed at an incorrect sales price, we reserve the right to refuse, cancel or limit any orders placed for such merchandise or services at the incorrect price.

Product-Specific Warranties & Limitations

Vintage and Antique Pieces
We specialize in breathing new life into vintage and antique furniture. However, we cannot guarantee the lifespan of these older pieces due to their inherent age and previous use. Although it is our privilege to bring new life to old pieces, there is room for imperfection to our final outcome. Our team does our best to restore old pieces to their optimal beauty and potential and comfort. There is no guarantee that an old piece will be “brand new”.

We make every effort to evaluate, diagnose, and disclose every structural and/or aesthetic issue we note on a given piece. We will not finalize a sale on an item with a structural issue without disclosing said issue(s). Any items with structural flaws are priced for sale below market rate. It is up to the client to determine whether or not to move forward with the purchase. We will likewise point out any visual imperfections and provide pricing and  recommendations to sand, patch or otherwise visually restore the hard finishes of the piece — wood, metal, paint, hardware, etc. The client incurs all necessary and any chosen cosmetic restoration fees.

Structural Issues:

  • If your vintage Chairloom piece requires structural attention, we can provide repairs for clients in the Philadelphia area (service fees apply)

  • We recommend finding local antique and vintage furniture specialists for distance-related repairs

Realistic Expectations:

  • Vintage pieces may continue to show their age through squeaking, settling, or other characteristics

  • Our restoration brings pieces to their optimal beauty and comfort, but cannot make them “brand new”

  • Normal wear, imperfections, and aging are inherent to vintage furniture

  • All furniture must be respectfully cared for by the client

Custom Pieces

There are no returns or exchanges on custom pieces.

If a mechanism (leg, base, swivel) becomes faulty within a year of the purchase, Chairloom will work with an out of town furniture specialist on the piece and incur costs. If the piece is local to Philadelphia or NYC, Chairloom will pick up the piece for repair.

After one year of purchase, Chairloom can not be held responsible for faults of any kind. All furniture should be respectfully cared for at all times by the client.

Exclusions

  • Damage from pets, children, food & drink, or misuse is not covered

  • Normal wear and tear is the client’s responsibility

Textiles & Upholstery

Textiles fade and wear just like clothing and other such personal items. Chairloom is not responsible for wear & tear on any textiles after purchase.

Craftsmanship Reality

Reupholstery / upholstery is an art and a science that is hand done. Fabrics and furniture when “married” during upholstery do not always meet with perfection. Real life upholstery is very different than Photoshop and magazine images. Furniture and fabrics need to breathe, adapt and react to each other along with thread, buttons, staples, steel, wood and other such elements.

Hardware

When zippers break Chairloom will do everything we can to work with the client on finding suitable repairs in a timely manner. We can not be responsible for popped buttons.

Exclusions

  • Damage from pets, children, food & drink, or misuse is not covered

  • Normal wear and tear is the client’s responsibility

30-Day Limit
Items not collected within 30 days of completion become the property of Chairloom. Lack of communication during this period is considered abandonment of the items.

This policy ensures we can maintain our high-quality, custom approach while setting realistic expectations about the nature of vintage furniture restoration and custom upholstery work.

Contests, Sweepstakes & Promotions

Any contests, sweepstakes or other promotions (collectively, “Promotions”) made available through the Service may be governed by rules that are separate from these Terms & Conditions. If you participate in any Promotions, please review the applicable rules as well as our Privacy Policy. If the rules for a Promotion conflict with these Terms and Conditions, the Promotion rules will apply.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, so the limitations above may not apply to you. Certain state laws do not permit limitations on implied warranties or exclusions or limitations of certain damages. If these laws apply to you, some or all of the foregoing disclaimers, exclusions or limitations may not apply to you, and you may have additional rights under applicable state laws.
